Ralph is a Minister who was in PEI...I attempted to locate him there to connect him with the MP PEI Lobster Supper group without success. Ralph has a brother in Kingston that I know (he was once an MP) and a sister near Kemptville whose husband is a retired MP. Ralph served in Petawawa with me.

Dell is right. After retiring in 1995 I moved to PEI and began working with the PEI government. For one full term I was the executive assistant to the Minister of Fisheries. After he left politics to go to Ottawa I spent a number of years as an administrative/program officer, where I wrote the government regulations governing above ground oil storage tanks, helping to write and teach the training course for the same program with Holland College, and then supervising the implementation of the program, including all aspects of enforcement.

I did 8 years of part-time studies at UPEI and then full time studies at the Montreal School of Theology (McGill), finishing my studies for ordained ministry. I was ordered a Deacon in PEI and later ordained a Priest in Newfoundland.

I had heard you were with the PEI government and when Dell mentioned you were a Minister, priesthood certainly didn't come to mind. I assume it's you on the photos (I was looking for a close-up)... 35yrs away from Petawawa and back to Nfld. Quite a few people who thought they'd never return ended up doing so. You never know what you missed until you've gone away. Well done.

The Lord moves in mysterious ways. Sure hope life has been good to you. You certainly treated me well in the time we served together. As a matter of fact, the Trade on a whole treated me well. We can all find things to moan about, but it's much more beneficial when we look at the positives instead of the negatives.

Bonnie and I have been married going on 27 years and we have two married sons, a grandson, a granddaughter, and another grandchild due in July. Both of my boys and their families are living on PEI.

If you linked onto my parish website (http://parishofstanthony.webs.com) I'm the Priest wearing the red chasuble (poncho) in the pictures with the Bishop (the guy wearing the Miter (hat) who is himself an ex-medic and ex-chaplain). In the other pictures I'm also the one wearing red.

It sure would be nice to meet up with many of you again. Over the 21 years I served as an MP many friendships were made, and as often happens, postings and retirements bring them to a close. Sites like this offer an opportunity to re-activate those friendships, so my hat is off to those responsible for putting this site together.

Joanne and I paid a 2-week visit to Nfld a couple years ago and LOVE it. We had been to Nfld before but this time we took time to smell the flowers. Just lovely; nature unspoiled with the passage of time. We met Nlfders (some ex-mil) who returned to appreciate the homeland foreever and learned more about its history. As we realized, 2 wks hardly made a dent in seening things. We plan to do it again.

I saw your website but not a close-up of the face; I really wanted to see how you look at this time. It feels strange to picture someone I knew in combats suddenly wearing a red chasuble... poncho is something I can relate to... is the former waterproof?
